  • Title: “Behemoth Chip”
  • Media: Mondo Chipo.
  • Submitted by: Chris W.
  • A simple bag of chips intended for Summer snacking yielded this behemoth. Chris noted that it almost took up the entire bag, so he photographed it; then promptly consumed what could have been a fantastic eBay auction item.

  • Title: “Quaker Oat Catastrophe”
  • Media: Quaker Oat. Shriveled Nightmare.
  • Submitted by: Alan "Hot Pastrami" Bellows
  • Quaker Oats? Oh, hell no. Alan informs us this "grossly malformed specimen ... drawn from a box of Quaker Oat Squares cereal [is] a smidge larger than an Eisenhower silver dollar." Frankly, I can't look at it without becoming slightly nauseous. Good going Quaker Oats.

  • Title: “Snobby Eggplant”
  • Media: Egglant. Numerous Lies.
  • Submitted by: Steve G.
  • I normally turn my nose up at the (rather disgusting excuse for a vegetable) eggplant. But, this one seems to be turning its nose up at me.

  • Title: “Melancholy Egg”
  • Media: Eggs. Ennui.
  • Submitted by: John Y.
  • John found, at his local pub, what must be the saddest pickled egg on record. John notes that "If I'd been stuck in a jar of vinegar for a few months, I'd be frowning too." What might be sadder is that when John returned to take a better photo — someone had already consumed the melancholy egg.

  • Title: “Cutey Pickle”
  • Media: Pickle. Happiness or Rage.
  • Submitted by: Crane (from Korea)
  • Crane was ordering a meal and got this pickle served up on the side. She thinks that, while it is definitely shouting at her, it's also very, very happy. I think all food should be served when it's happy. That's just me.

  • Phil's homegrown tomato may be the first evidence of a bird-tomato hybrid species. You decide!

  • Title: “Pasta Van Gogh”
  • Media: Dried Pasta. Post-Impressionism.
  • Submitted by: Chris S.
  • Many of us have experienced pasta sticking to the bottom of a pot, but this one does take on a certain "Van Gogh-esque" quality.

  • Media: Onion Ring. Hot Oil. Compressed Video.
  • Submitted by: Eric Yruegas
  • Yes, Eric, your onion ring does look like the QuickTime 3 logo! You think this could be a new wave of corporate product placement?
