    Brian K. Vaughn’s epic comic book series "Y - The Last Man", came to an end today with the release of issue #60.  Funny, suspenseful, and insightful - it’s a comic for people that think they don’t like comics.

    Basically, the plot hinges on Yorick Brown, an amateur escapologist, fool in love, and part time foster parent to a poop-slinging helper monkey named Ampersand - and how he responds when a global catastrophe leaves him as the last man - not human, but man - on earth.

    Check out the crack-like first issue here

    I remember my first taste of cilantro - and its almost greasy, earthy taste.  Today it’s one of my favorites, but apparently it still has more than its share of Haters.

    I am infamous for once stating to a group of breathlessly excited "readers" - that "The Da Vinci Code" was "A stupid book for stupid people that wanted to think they were smart."  In support of my "theory", here is a graph that purports to show Books That Make You Dumb.

    Here is an interesting Dwell video profile of book designer/novelist/"singer" Chip Kidd - directed by a fellow NYU alumnus that I loathed.  So it’s cool to uncool ratio is split dead even as far as I am concerned.

    New York’s Improv Everywhere just hosted their 7th Annual "No Pants Day" protest.  Check out the (questionably worksafe) photoset courtesy of the Village Voice.

    As some of you may know, Hanttula is a Finnish name. Although I’d like to visit Finland someday, I don’t speak a word of the language.

    Fortunately, this cover of the song "Jackson" sung in Finnish is an excellent start.
    {bonus: the link is to a uniquely Finnish video for the song}

    I suggest you spend the rest of the day with this on unending repeat. I will.

    Kung Fu Election: a variation of Mortal Kombat in which you play as the candidate of your choice & work your way through the competition… one flying kick & spinning slash attack at a time.
